And finally it was time for Paris. We reached the informal capital of Europe with a TGV train from Avignone, an high speed train.
Carlo in Avignone suggested us an hostel, and was also so kind to phone them to book for us. The hostel was not so big, but it was really confortable and cozy. With small 6-beds dormitory on 3 floors, a big kitchen on the basement and a a common room with a pool table, some books and a very crowded chess board, this hostel was an excellent place to stay for 22 euro per night. The guy who stayed at the reception used to sleep at night directly on the reception table, with a bedroll.
We met some friendly persons, expecially three english girls that we would meet again in our travel (sorry I don't remeber the names!).
It was not my first trip to Paris, but this time I enjoyed the street life: we didn't visited museums or landmarks (apart from the Tour Eiffel), but we met people and some street artist and hang out with them (well, actually one of us also played chess with them, loosing badly).
Not everything was so nice: we also met some drugs addicted walking with needles in hand on the streets, but hey, Paris is a 9 million inhabitants city, so you could not expect all of them to be perfect person. The other problem was the undeground closing too early at night, so we had some long walks at night :)
