Well geting to Bocas was handy enough, once made it over the border i caught a mini bus to the boat dock which was right in the middle of the Chiquita Bananna plantation. This is just one massive area covered in Banannas. Hard to describe how big the area is and an endless view of plantations. Anyway the boat took an hour or so to get to Isla Colon in Bocas meandering its way through mangroves, river and ocean.
Once i landed in Bocas myself and a few others found a decent hostel and hit the town for food and beers. I managed to book a few scuba dives while the others booked spanish lessons. Wouldnt mind brushing up on more spanish myself but dont have the time.
Bocas is a string of Carribean islands and a lot of tourists, Many of the beaches are just picture postcards and incredible clean clear water too.. That and the price of a dive is 25 bucks a go.
Anyway it was up the next morning and off for a few scuba dives and a tour of several islands which took a full day. We also spotted a rake of dolphins along the way and got to see sting rays and some other fish i cant remember the names too. From there it was on to explore some of the beaches and islands in the Carribean before heading back to isla colon.
