Started work the next day building apartments on a small enough site so was quite happy with that.. Managed to get back training and playing badminton again too which was great although i was rusty as hell again. Met up with Rache then a few times in the city as she had come back over for a few more months of travel. As i had more or less finished with my car (been all the places i want) and all i need is walking distance i gave my car to Rachel so she can travel about the rest of the country. Managed to chalk up nearly 19,000 km's in the time i had it so wasnt bad going.
Christmas is coming soon but you would never know it here... feck all decorations and very little xmas music or any of that craic.. May struggle to get turkey here too...
Christmas week turned into a busy little time... finished up work on the friday before xmas and it was a half day and then beers and a BBQ at work which was a lot of fun... home then a quick shower and change and back out with the lads for the rest of the evening and night as well. It was really nice having the few days off again and i took full advantage of that relaxing and geting in some xmas food shopping. Over the weekend i met up with Dylan and paul and wound up at some random party near where i live with them.

Sunday i got a ticket to see Sneaky sound system who were playing in the civic, so i went along to that with Wayne from work. Turned out to be a really good concert and great fun. It was back out then xmas eve for drinks in Dux Lux.. cant beat the beer garden there when its 28 degrees ... very odd xmas weather but all good. Myself and paul moved on to the Bog then for a couple and finished off the night in the Bard. Xmas and stephens day was spent cooking BBQ's eating drinking and relaxing ... definitly not the same or anything like home.It was back to work for a day or two between xmas and new years which was pretty cruisy as we were working in the sun up on the apartments roof.. (obviously not working hard either and a lot of early finishes as there was only a few of us in and boss hardly there).
New years was pretty quiet and after a few drinks at home hit town pretty late to meet a couple of friends.. turned out to be quite the profitable nite after a good run on roulette in the casino... It was back to work for more of the same takeing it easy and sunshine which was suiting me just fine.
On my last weekend in christchurch i got to play some badminton with team canterbury which is always good and will miss that in the coming months. I met up with Rachel then who had driven down to see me as she is baseing herself up around motueka for a few weeks. We hung out in town saturday and had a few drinks at home before heading on to Red Jacks saturday nite. Sunday myself and Rache hung out and caught up some more before she had to head on north again..
Did feck all in work the last few days and pulled a scam on my last 2 sick days to use up... cant not get those...lol.. met up with paul and jedd for drinks during the week and out with a few lads from work for drinks between all the packing on my last nite in christchurch. And very random as i was walking to the bus station to catch a bus to the airport i ran into Janneke a dutch girl who had traveled with myself and dave through part of vietnam. Short one hour flight then to Auckland and goodbye to the south island. checked into Base in Auckland. and met up with El a girl who was on the PGCE course with me in cardiff and has starrted a teaching job in Auckland. friday it was out to Whaikere island for a chunk of the day and then it was time to get my ass to the airport paying the 25 dollar departure tax in shrapnal which i was quite happy to piss them off with. 5 hour flight ahead to Tahiti and a year in NZ done.
