Been looking forward to this concert weekend for ages... and as i was a year gone from home on september the 13th i went for a few drinks with work and subsequently ran into a few other friends out,, so a lateish nite was had and seen as i had sick days to use up i rang in sick for friday.. Nothing wrong with me but thats beside the point.. Karl and Brad both worked half days friday so once they were home we hit the road in Brads car heading for Christchurch.
Once we hit christchurch 500 kms later we checked into Charlie B's backpackers where myself and karl had met originally way back in january.. its central and a stones throw from my old house too.. anyway it was into town then for drinks and met up with paul another guy we used work with in christchurch.
Was up early saturday to watch rugby and then hit town to do some shopping and take a walk and managed to catch barry and lynn as well. SP

 . still had their house key so thought i should return it..lol .. Brad had somehow managed to loose or forget his jacket in who knows what bar the night before and as funny as that was.. it was even funnier that his car keys were in the jacket.. no luck in geting jacket back but did manage to open car with a coat hanger where Brad had a spare key in the car.. maybe not the best place to keep a spare but lucked out on this occasion.. Out for drinks and dinner to the Bog and on then to The Wespac arena for the snow patrol concert.. Ian Archer and Opshop supported who were both really good. Snow Patrol put on a brilliant show and really enjoyed the concert which had a crackin atmosphere..
We had already met up with Dave our barman who works in morrisons and his girlfriend selena... lol.. turns out that i knew selena from leinster badminton and hadnt seen her in over 10 years.. although neither of us recognised each other until got a surname.. small world. We hit the speights ale house which was always a regular after work haunt.. and on back into the Bog in town then... where ran into Billy who was supposed to have made his way to Fiji.. but had his irish ATM card swallowed so had to wait in chrishchurch a week or two till he got another.. Another 5am in the morning bed time and the drive back to queenstown sunday was torture.. took turns doing the driving but it felt like forever.
Last week of work ahead and then hitting road for travels again...chi ching.
