After leaving Queenstown on monday evening i headed off over the mountains for Wanaka which is about 65km away... Another very scenic route so happy out.. Once i hit Wanaka i checked into the Purple cow hostel which was really nice. I met up with Jez an Australian guy who was in the same room as me so we went out into town for a few drinks and a pool competition. We then met up with a load of local guys and a few more guys from the hostel. The local guys brought us around for the nite and turned out to be a really good laugh. Up tuesday morning i headed off to do a hike.. the mountain was over 1600 meters high not that i knew that before going .... so two hours in i was still no where near the top but eventually i got there in 3 hours.. The views of Wanaka the lakes and the mountains were amazing and so many of the peaks just dusted in snow. Only took me two hours to come down the mountain with a few short cuts of course...knackered at this stage.... and then it was back into town where i met up with Rachel and two of her friends.. they had come down to Wanaka for the day as well to do a walk although wise enough they skipped going up a mountain. So we all hung out for a few hours that evening
Wednesday i took another drive out to some mountians and then i went to Puzzel world which was really good.. they have a huge outdoor maze there which is a challenge and they also have all these illusion rooms some which made me dizzy as hell. From here it was on the road north again and a drive towards Haast
