Thought i better do a full week in work seen as i had missed a few in the previous weeks between food festivals and rain days.. Now i mentioned before work is fairly easy going and you can get a away with doing very little at times..(not that i do that..lol)..Anyway the company decided to get a new foreman on site... It may as well be Hitler himself as a boss..  so needless to say work is now a bit of comedy show as two people got sacked within days and the laid back working way we did have is now gone.. So should be interesting to see how work goes anyway. Took a few days to recover from paddy's weekend and last weekend myself Karl, Brian and Suzanna got tickets to a super 14 rugby match. The Crusaders against the Stormers. The Crusaders are the local team here and play out of Jade stadium which is a 10 minute walk from the house. They have a load of all blacks in their side too so they are pretty shit hot. The Stormers are from Cape Town. Anyway myself and Karl went down to the bard for a few drinks in the afternoon and then got dinner at home and the four of us walked on over to the stadium cheerleaders at half time
cheerleaders at half time
. We had front row seats in the "Tui's" Stand rite behind the posts. As Tui's is a beer and we were sitting in their stand we got given free bottles of beer as we went in. we also bought and drank our fair share too during the game.
At home the rugby matchs are more or less the 80 minutes and thats it but here they put on a load of entertainment before kick off and at half time. So the cheerleaders were out and a couple of bands and then they had about 10 guys on horse'es riding all around the pitch dressed as crusaders and waving swords all done to music so that was damm impressive. The match itself was really good and the Crusaders won .. the attendance was about 30,000 so crackin atmosphere. After the game went to a local bar for a few jugs and then on to the Bog to meet up with some other friends and it was Joe our barman's last nite in Christchurch. Sunday the four of us headed out to the beach in Sumner which is about a 20 minute drive from the house for a swim. the weather had been lovely all weekend but the water was feckin freezing but was still well worth it.
Monday i decided it was time i got back to doing active stuff again so i bought a badminton racket and trainers and went down to some summer club to play. I hadnt played since last july when i was in Cardiff so it was really nice to get to play again. Tuesday i went down to the hall again to another club which was a little better and they asked me to play league for them this season, Still have another club or two to check out and seen as the season hasnt started yet its a good time to be shoppin about.
