Eight countries and 134 days in Asia, 69 different beds in hostels, hotels, guest houses, bamboo huts, trains and boats. Have traveled by planes, bus'es, trains, motorbikes...tuk tuk's, elephants and even a donkey. Took 2 flights to get to Asia and 13 flights geting about asia at various times.. love Air Asia. Over stayed in Asia by about 10 weeks and i had never intended to visit either Burma or Indonesia but made it to both as a complete bonus. Have collected 34 new stamps and visa's in my passport and just 5 blank pages left.

Lots of people have asked me what was my favourite country or place out of the 8 Asian countries that i visited and thats almost impossible to answer as all had differnt good stuff.. food, people, sites, beaches, islands, booze and jungles. And of course there was some real dump places along the way as well. Some of my favourite things that stand out would have to be the Trekkin in Pai in northern Thailand, Tubeing down the river in Vang Veing in Laos...despite looseing my grandads neck chain bamboo rafting in pai north thailand

. Definitley an experience crawling through the Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam not to mention blasting off a fully loaded AK-47. The temples in siem reap cambodia which are incredible. Climbing mount popa barefoot in Burma and looking out over their temples in Bagan. Some of the best nites out i had were definitley spent in Bangkok with my welsh friends over on their business tour and the chinese wedding they brought me to in malaysia.
Got totally addicted to scuba diving then in Koa Tao in southern Thailand and a big ass grey reef shark swimming rite by really made my day. I loved Indonesia sumatra for just relaxing and the islands of Bali and Lombok kicked ass. Incredible diving off The Gili's and new years there was awesome. Some of the big cities are good and some are dirty smelly kips, but KL had a bit of everything and geting to see the malaysian badminton open there was class along with geting roped into a flower parade competition which we managed to win...lol. Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos all have facinating history... I never knew that Laos has the title of being the most bombed country in history or that there were more bombs dropped in the vietnam war than all of ww2 put together.

I would have to say the people in Laos and Indonesia were the warmest and friendliest i met in my travels, The vietnamese would have been the most difficult beach in phi phi thailand

. The Lao language was also the easiest to pick up and indonesian and malay were'nt far behind either.

Another thing i found really amusing was the open sewer's in most asian cities.. these would reek and in many towns and cities walking on footh paths was a no no.. it was almost too dodgy or dangerous to do it for fear of falling down a sewer at nite.. well if u had a few drinks on you .. you would'nt exactly see the sewer coming.. And the other problem with footh paths is that this is where all motorbikes are parked and the buggers drive on the paths..lol. Never had so much fun crossing roads either, especially in the big cities like Jakarta, Phnom Phen, Hanoi and Saigon where there are just millions of motorbikes.

In the last 4 and a half months ive eaten practically no western food and its been noodles and rice dishes for breakfast most of the time. Every country had great food and dishes so was definitley in heaven on that point. Ate and drank some really weird stuff along the way including snakes, spiders, crickets and maggots... not to mention all kinds of moonshine's.
Met some fantastic people (and a few shitheads) while traveling along and most travelers are up for a good laugh and out to see the sights..
Have added some photos, some are mine and some are borrowed from different postcards i liked and collected along the way.
