today i went to the orphanage. our placement at the hospital had some kinks to work-out so we picked other places to go. when we got there i said i would work wherever they needed me and i ended-up working with the severely disabled children. i've decided to stay for the rest of the week in that unit and try to do some physical therapy training with the nurses. the kids are in desperate need of therapy and i really think my skills are best used at this location for a few more days. I like that the program is flexible enough to allow for such things.
next week i should be at the hospital.

our program director booked a SWEET deal on a group trip to the Sahara this weekend. We leave from the house on Friday afternoon, drive about 5 total hours and stay in a nice hotel friday night in a small town near the desert. we have most of the day to do sightseeing and then meet at 5pm with the tour group and take a 2 hour camel ride thru the desert and camp overnight. then we get a ride back to our house all for 1450 Dirahms which comes out to about 215$ US. sweeeeeet! when we tried to figure something out on our own it was going to cost about 100 Euro and we'd have to find our own way to the camel starting point. i love our program director!
