the kids at the orphanage call all the women on staff, including us something that sounds like "umah". we've been wondering what it is and in our arabic class this afternoon we were told they were calling us *ma* as in *mom*. :( so sad.
i'm going to go help a girl out at her placement at a school for *street children* on friday.
this should be interesting.
in other news, the house manager did henna for some of us last night. my hands are all pretty-like now. today we're leaving at like 2pm for the desert trip. suuuuper excited. also, last night calli and i tried our hand at bargaining for goods in the medina. i got a berber skirt and a pink tunic for less than 30 dollars!
alright, back to arabic class: Fhmti, Rajli, Ma-fhmti-s and other things i can't pronounce.
