Show trip route
In retrospect, my trip was amazing. Seriously, a chance in a lifetime. I am really glad I did it, and I'm even kind of glad I went alone. I got to meet some great people, see amazing sights, and I had a fantastic time.
My last few days in London were good. My mother and I saw Les Miserables, which I had never seen before, but is my mother's favourite musical. It was pretty good. Not my favourite, and I liked the other two shows I saw there better, but it was good. I liked the guy who played Jean Valjean (the lead. He was really good. Deep, throaty voice, different, but good. I did more shopping, went to many a Dorothy Perkins store, went to Harrods, walked around more. We went and saw Tower Bridge and London bridge, I saw the Bank of England, St. Paul's Cathedral, and I saw 1 Lombard Street which is where, many years ago, my mother worked. It was a bank then (CIBC actually), it is now an expensive restaurant. We had a drink there. She was much more taken with it than I was. Anyways, Wednesday we woke up and made our way to the airport, and after some duty-free shopping, it was time to leave. The flight home was even worse than the flight there. I hate Air Transat. They need more leg room!! And less kids and crying babies (but I guess they can't really control that...but bah!)
Favourite moment? I can't really think of one. People keep asking me, and I don't have one specific moment, nor do I have a favourite place. I really enjoyed Switzerland (like I thought I would), I liked Amsterdam more than I thought I would, liked Paris less than I though, and still love England. Loved the Cote D'Azur. Especially Cannes, that would be my favourite out of the three I visited there (the other two being Nice and Monaco). Ummm, I liked Rome the best out of everything I saw in Italy. Best train is a tie between the Swiss train from Geneva to Zurich, and the German train from Zurich to Basel. I was on the Swiss train for longer, so I guess that could be considered the winner. Best meal would be the fondue I had in Annemasse. Althought best dessert was at the Hagen Das (sp?) cafe in Nice. Best take away would the Shwarma in Amsterdam. Although favourite take away place would definitly be Upper Crust which I found in England, Paris, and Geneva. Best famous sight...hmmm...Michelangelo's David was pretty cool. The Sistine Chapel was gorgeous. The Mona Lisa was disappointing. Colessuem was neat. Eiffel Tower, meh. Big Ben, cool. Anne Frank house, inspiring. Lindt Chocolate factory, yummy!!
C'est finis! Maintenant, je voudrais etudier francais, parce que, ma francais est horrible!
