Where I stayed
Magnetic Island
The drive from Port Douglas back to Townsville was just as good the second time. This time I also stopped off at Mission Beach, a lovely little town with a beautiful beach. I had lunch on the beach then headed off to Townsville to catch my ferry to Magnetic Island. I arrived just in time and enjoyed the 35 minute ride over to the island.
I stayed on Magnetic Island for 2 nights at the Bungalow Club Resort in a quaint little 'A' framed log cabin beside a koala sanctuary. The birds chirped by day and the possums squealed as they tussled each other at night. It was beautiful, relaxing and homely. I sat on the beach under the shade of palm trees for hours, watching people on jet skies, boats towing kids on tyres, yachts sailing and an old water plane taking off and landing in front of me. It was the perfect place to relax and read another book!
My stay on the island was wonderful and relaxing.
