On Vancouver Island we stayed with one of Jacquie Murphy's good friends, Shelly. Within walking distance of her house is a park called the Francis / King Regional Park. Marcelo and I decided to take a walk there and see some of the really big trees the parks of Vancouver Island are famed for. We really enjoyed exploring the undergrowth and could have gotten lost in there as the paths seemed to go in circles to some extent. Some of the trees really were huge and the ferns enormous and the swamps full of large skunk cabbage plants. If you go, take bug spray! It's a bit of a mosquito haven.
