We drove down and it took all day, we arrived at about 9pm and slept in a hotel, then Gildomar and a friend of his went and made their purchases in Paraguay. I decided to stay behind. I've done Paraguay once and was unimpressed. They came back with so much stuff I nearly died. They filled up every available space in that car so much that the other girl and I had a seat and a half to sit on in the back between us. We set off and pulled in to see the falls
The Foz (meaning gully I think) de Iguacu (meaning Big Water), border Brazil and Argentina, so there is a Brazilian way to see them and an Argentinian, a bit like Niagara. They say the Brazilian side is more dramatic. They have 3 times the water flow of Niagara.
Upon seeing Iguazu, the United States' First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt reportedly exclaimed "Poor Niagara!". They are a Unesco world heritage site and one of the new seven natural wonders of the world. I think I have probably added too many photo's but they were just awe inspiring.
After the wonderful experience at the falls, I had probably the worst 17 hour drive of my life squished in the back of Gildomar's car. I do knot have the love for the Palio Weekend that Marcelo does. He was in the front passenger seat. But I'm glad we saw it.
