I have been brushing up on my knowledge of the countries of south america, Uruguay has a population of only 3.5 million but as far as I know the area of the country is bigger than that of the UK. The capital city feels like the old Žnew worldŽ that you imagine finding in the hispanic part of south america. The city has rough areas, new areas (we did not visit as they were far away), old areas we did visit as they are all close to the port.

The Uruguayans are said to eat the most meat per person (60kg per annum) which I can imagine seeing the size of the cuts in the old Market place. We ordered one and ate it between 3.
Unfortunately Sandra wasnŽt feeling well so she left the ship, put her foot on the ground just to say sheŽd been there and went back to the room.

Marcelo, Edson and I visited a few of the museums and shops. I would recommend the old house of the president which is the national museum at the independance square. It is very interesting. I also recommend the market where we ate that beautiful steak.
