French National Day
Entry 4 of 51 | show all | print this entry |
Since today is a free day, I took the opportunity to visit the region a little and also with my employer. I visited the Bois de Cise which was nice. I also looked around to compare the price and give myself an idea about the cost of life: my first point is that it cost less here to be alcoholic than diabetic!! A minute maid can cost about 2$ while a koenigsberg beer can, about 25 cents and a 6packs of heineken 5$ quite a difference!
I slept well, but been disturbed by some great horribly hairy spider... yukk I hate spider! I will also have to adapt to food which is often tasting different, but their bread is delicious!
The weather is slightly grey but it change fast since the wind blow hard! I still try to get in touch with people from home, wondering what are the cost btw!
Tomorrow, I'm going to start working!

Another day of job, later on we had to move to the bank on the next city (Eu) and there I tested the european McDonalds, as disgusting as the ones back home :D. Later on, I went to the tourist office getting some info and brochure about public transports and thing to see and I will plan to go to Dieppe soon.
My evening at the village are relatively quiet, it looks dead by night and I'm still looking forward to meet people and the lifestyle is quite different here (I still have jetlag finally also!). I would have enjoyed travelling with someone else to do silly thing and get energically crazy, but finally I will keep my energy for my own foot travel then! But well, I wonder what are the people back home doing... and what the ones here doing as well?
After a week here, my impression are that it quite seems anarchic. People seems stressed and on a hurry and not really at their things (or lost) but also quite lazy! I didnt see any other skateboarder or people doing more than lying down drinking next to their scooter wearing all Fila. I will have to tolerate the accent though waaaahhhh
Enjoying writing along the sea, listening to Snuff and looking at Portsmouth England by night!

Finally, I'm still here and I didnt leave on a trip. The jet lag killed me and made me sleep long, so finally I simply walked around some other part of the villages till the camping and the Nautic club and the marsch.
At last, I did relax a bit
