September 5

A cliché in Cologne

Leaving by midday, As Florian was going in direction of Trier, we did the panoramic route and stopped to look at the place where next year camp could possible be... a nice spot on top of a hill giving on the Mosel... to be looked at later! After, they brought me to the highway where I could HH to Koln, It was a nice sunny day and I could relax along the road until a great convertible beetle stopped by to pick me. I got my first hitch-hiking ride ever in a cabrio with Michael, a ex-german army pilot on his early pension and enjoying life. He was pretty interested about my journey, my future plans and the coping with beginning my career abroad and travelling. It was great and he was really a wonderful open-minded driver. He bought me to the roundabout that brings to Koln and from there I decided to HH some more to reach the city, it worked... and of course it was funnily strange to be hitch-hiking in a urban area to reach downtown.

For the rest, I chilled and snack in Cologne, along the Rhine and so... mostly being lazy and walking a bit around but with my bag it was not easy. Later that night, Chris (HC:zaubii) came to pick me in Koln and we drove to his place in Solingen to have a meal, discuss and work on the computer. Mostly talking and planning lots of HC volunteering things, Chris made me to the volunteer skype conference board to exchange ideas... damn I was volunteer for months and I didn't know there was a place to communicate between each other yet. So within minutes I had nearly all volunteers adding up to my skype list... which was so far including only 4 persons.

Funny and I got more addicted to follow the conversation and the problems to solve from then on.

September 6

I woke up by mid-day and worked on the Internet most of the time, then by the end of the day I moved to the Aldi to do some grocery to cook something for the night and Chris contacted me telling he would be late that night... but also to tell me that Frank was in Dusseldorf and that they were having a meeting that night.

I talked with Frank through msn, funny that we were so near ... but I couldn't reach Dusseldorf anyway. We agreed about meeting and that I could lift with him the next day to go to Belgium which was pretty cool and unexpected.
