August 26

Even if I arrived late the previous day, we woke up early and I hardly get hot water and even LOST MY TOE NAIL!! I could believe it... it falls just like that? Not that it was painfull, but it was tickling in a bad way. And hop I didn't have any toe nail on one toe.
Of course this made me walk funny for a few days and made it a bit late to meet the French people to catch the ride to Siguldas... which is a town outside of Riga with several castles in the middle of the nature area. We took the bus on the way, which was the slow bus... Then we arrived and started walking around talking the telepheric above the river to the first castle and then hike in the forest to the second castle, down the cavern where there was several weddings and couple coming as what seems to be a tradition. Which we understood by reading the info panel saying that the cavern was the place where a man had lock his unfaithful wife and the spring water coming out was actually her cries.

Some of the ladies were pretty sexy though ;)
It also revealed us one particular point about Latvia... why there was absolutely no young girl or 25 and more chilling out in town and going out, flirting or whatever (as they are nearly all only 20)... it seems to be quite custom to be married and with children by 25 in the country, as we noticed at the married people passing around.

Back to Siguldas village, we stopped to by some drinks and some bad cheap vodka for like 2$. We drank but never finished it. Then we waited for the bus to go back to Riga by the evening and once there bought some vegetable at the market and went to the hostel where the French people were staying at to cook something. We chilled in town pretty late, went back to Chris to change and relax shortly before walking back to look for the 'White night' that Riga was having. But it wasn't as exciting as those in Western Europe. Still its more late that we went back to sleep.
