Leaving Maastricht on Thuesday the 4th to hitch-hike direction Venlo : the wonderful thing is that most cities are having a defined 'Liefterplaats' for hitch-hikers where there is a sign for car telling that it's here that people will be hitch-hiking and a place for them to stop. So its really nice. We left Maastricht by mid-day after some lazy morning in Sander's place and then start the hitching. We reached Venlo by the end of the afternoon after 2 different ride with a waiting time of approx. 40 min. each and of course a 3km hiking after our first ride (around Haelen) to find another decent HH spot. We started walking to the center of Venlo and stopped somewhere for a lunch in a park bench and later on reached the center of this cute little town and got in touch with Arjen our host (DikkeHarry) who came after his job and had a chat at his place. Then since we were his first guest ever he invited us out for supper.
And we kept with talking at his place afterwards about some canadian history and slept. PS his flat is wonderful and especially his ceiling! More thumbnails ...
