Friday 22nd August
I am sure that the trains went over the roof of the van last night as it was extremely noisy!! It was so bad that we went to change our site. We found one further away from the track so although we could still hear the trains, it didn't sound like it was running us down. I think Vancouver could do better than this for RV accommodation.... There's a business opportunity there for someone. Burnaby RV Park is very good and it is heaving with people at the moment- because there is nowhere else to go (that is worth bothering with) in Vancouver (in our opinion).
We relaxed a bit today, and caught up on the washing etc. We swam in the pool and lounged in the Jacuzzi. It rained on and off all day so it wasn't a good day for the kids to be outside. We needed some food for the weekend so Steve decided to go to the supermarket on his bike. He was gone about 2 hours and we were just beginning to get a little worried about him when an RV pulled up in front of us, the door opened and there was Steve in the RV with his bike and all the shopping. He had asked some Dutch people if they wouldn't mind taking his food back to the RV Park as he couldn't manage it! They very kindly put the shopping and Steve and his bike in the back and brought him back right to our site! It was really funny seeing him inside the RV with his bike!
We did some packing and tidying up and then had a swim in the pool. Steve spent some time talking to the Dutch family during the evening and the kids had a play with their kids before bed. Zach fell over and had a nasty scrape on his knee so I spent quite a while trying to calm him down before bed.
