Friday 8th August

I was the only one to get a shower this morning as we didn't have much water but we were intending to find a camp site that coming night.

Spokane is huge and seemed to go on forever. It took a while to get out of town and we held off from getting fuel until we had left the city.  It is very very hard to know what the fuel prices will do from one state to the next and also it is not predictable within an urban area so we have to try and guess where we might find the cheapest fuel!  Some times we win and others we lose!  You may think we are sad people driving around trying to find the cheapest fuel but with the prices at the height they are and the amount our tank holds, plus the total number of miles we have done, it really can save us a lot of money in the over all scheme of things.

We finally found a really good price at $4.03 and feeling very pleased with our purchase drove off, only to discover a place about a mile further along for $3.93!!!

We drove to Coulee City and found a Community Camp Site which is basically a cheap camp site with electrical hook up and water and waste hook up on a not so great looking site but near a nice lake. It was cheap and so we parked up. It was Friday and so it was almost full for the weekend.

We had a call from a chap called Maurice in Winnepeg, Manitoba in Canada who was very interested in our RV.  We also had about 3 other calls from other Canadians and so we were feeling the pressure to make a few decisions.

Maurice was so keen that he decided he was going to make the 14+ hour drive (1400 miles) the next day and possibly buy the vehicle.  We have many other interested parties waiting in Vancouver and around for us to return at the end of August. We were beginning to worry about how we were going to handle all these people and how we would make this a fair sale as some people were preparing to fly down to look at the vehicle and we don't want to upset them.

We spent the rest of the evening thinking about all this organising we will have to do.
