Tuesday 5th August
We woke about 8am and got dressed and went to knock on Becky's door to say good morning. We were welcomed in with breakfast already half cooked! We sat down to pancakes, Elk sausages from a beast that Becky herself had shot! We also had fried potatoes, loads of maple syrup and also coffee and orange juice.
After breakfast Becky showed us around her property, letting her pigeons out for a fly around, checking on the goats etc. she then dashed off to pick up her new truck that she had just bought.  After about half an hour she came back with it and we all had a good look at it. Then Becky asked me if I would like to go for a ride and would I like to drive it!  I was excited to drive it as it is an enormous 4x4 - bigger than anything I have driven before, so we left Steve with the kids and us girls went off for a spin.  It was my first drive in the States (on this trip). When we got back she decided she wanted to take it up a hill off the road.  Well when she started turning up the track I thought she was kidding! ...... she definitely wasn't. She said it was nothing but I thought it was seriously vertical-looking. Anyway the truck went up it as if it was a paved highway even though it was a deep-rutted rock-covered muddy track.  It was amazing.  We went up a short way and got out to look at the view.... Can you imagine looking out over a beautiful Montana pine tree-covered  mountain view?  Well that was what we were looking at.  Very, very beautiful .  we drove back down and met up with the others and then sadly we had to leave.
It was lunch time by this time so we drove a short distance before stopping for lunch and a shower in the RV which then led to the inevitable hunt for an RV dump station!  Once we had done all that we headed off again along highway 2 going west.
We ended up at a State Park called Logan State park where we parked by a lake.

We all went down for a swim at about 6pm and met a lady who was a journalist for the local daily paper in the area.  She asked if she could take a few photos of the kids playing in the water. Once she had finished we got talking and obviously our travel story inspired her because she took notes and said she would like to write a small feature on us and the kids. I am not too sure if it will get printed or not, but anyway she said she would email us the finished article if it was published.
It was late after that so we went back for dinner.
