Tuesday 24th June
We spent the morning getting ourselves organised and discussing our route onwards through Boston and North up the coast. Once we had made up our minds and said our goodbyes to our friends Robert, Cynthia, Alexis, Dylan Andrew and Josh, we set off.
We were fairly brave and our route put us right through the middle of Boston, through the two long tunnels that run under the city. This was not really too stressful as we had Rory the GPS assisting us as well as me navigating and watching the road signs. We did really well and got away from the city quickly, heading into an ever-threatening looking sky ahead. We made it to Salisbury Beach State Park, which is right on the Atlantic Coast, just in time for the heavens to open and a few smacks of thunder.
This campground was very busy and open. There were no trees and so we felt quite exposed. We went for a cycle around the camp and onto the beach which was beautiful with very golden sand. The weather stopped us from swimming but we dipped our toes into a very cold Atlantic Ocean! We went to bed fairly early after another tiring day!
