Another sunny day and we were off to Lone Pine Koala Sanctaury to explore the native wildlife. The first animal to approach us, I was informed by Zoe was a scrub turkey, after taking many photographs Zoe then told me with a smug grin on her face that they were so common it was like taking a photo of a pigeon!!!
Once inside we saw the rainbow lorikeets being fed and was amused that whilst taking a photograph one nearly knocked Zoe out, ( better luck next time).
We then made our way to the farm yard animals, where we petted the goats, sheep and horses
We then meet Alan the Australian shepherd, (crocodile dundee) who introduced to a whole new world of whistling and sheep dog commands. We were very impresesd with Tim, Speck, Nazzie, Missy and Rusty the sheep dogs and Australian Kelpies.
As we entered the Kangaroo enclosure Ellen was keenly searching for a glimpse of her first Kangaroo
On the way to lunch we also saw lots of lizards wandering around freely.
We enjoyed lunch with a minor bird, lizard and a scrub turkey
The end of our trip included visiting the crocodiles, wombats, Dingos, Kookaburras, Tawny Frog mouth owl, snakes and the wild australian boars!!!
To finish our day out we went to visit Harleys mummy Joan
Because Ellen has been having some difficulties with the use of the shower today we became fully equipped to deal with her every whim. She now stands on a box on top of a safety mat wearing goggles and a rubber halo,(splash guard) hooray-it was a success!!
Tonight we had Pumpkin soup which is actually a bloody butter nut squash!

Rainbow lorikeet
. We all feed and petted them, they were the same size as Ellen!! They were my favourite animal. Ellen was very careful to avoid the Kangaroo poo until Zoe told her it didn't matter we could wipe it off at the end, Ellen did not look impressed, but these immigrant Aussies don't care!!! :)On the way to lunch we also saw lots of lizards wandering around freely.

Goats
. Then off we went to the Koala cuddling area for a quick photo before heading to the Koala presentation to find out all about this wonderfully lazy marsupial. Sheep
. Were we enjoyed a nice drink and a Tim Tam in the inside/outside room on the upper deck. :) Even though it was a little nippy Zoe encouraged Ellen to dip her toes in the pool, Ellen feeling braver than usual decided a skinny dip was in order. Zoe joined in but was in her pants, I on the other hand being the sensible English Lady that I am stood and watched from afar laughing and taking photographs. Because Ellen has been having some difficulties with the use of the shower today we became fully equipped to deal with her every whim.
