We decided to spend a couple of nights in Kampala to do some souvenier shopping, money changing, buying bus tickets and going on a big night out in Kampala - since many are rating it as the next big best place to go out!!

We ended up going out to Gaba Road - not to the place in the lonely planet (Half London) since it was closed but to Capital Pub. The place was huge and a mix of a bar with 5 pool tables and many tables and chairs and later a nightclub with cheesy music and lots of people dancing. I really liked it. It was strange, however to see some white men who were obviously after "ladies of the night" - but it was all done very descretely. We couldn't believe we rolled home at nearly 2pm .... especially when our bed time has been more like 10pm since we have been away especially when we have been staying places with no electricity and have therefore been getting up at sunrise.

Not sure it is the next big place to go out since there are not lots of bars on one road to do a pub crawl down, but beer is cheap at 2,500 or 3,000USh (1 pound for 500ml)
