Beautiful lakes

We took the twisty turny 3h bus journey to Kibuye - but thankfully as we were in the front we did not feel sick. When we arrived we had no idea really of where to go since the lonely planet did not contain a map and just started walking along a road - which ended up being the right one, which took us to the Golf hotel (16,000FRW B&B) and Hotel Bethanie (15,000Frw for large ensuite on lake front). The walk was further than we expected, was a very long 2Km and there were no buses/taxis around so we just kept walking.. it ended up being about 40 mins walk from town. Thankfully we had left our big rucksacs in Kigali so it wasn't too bad.

What we saw though was absolutely stunning views of the lakes and surrounding hills and clear blue water. We enjoyed relaxing there and taking in the sun (and I developed a cold). It was very peaceful. The town itself didn't really have anything to offer - either restaurants or shops we could see and therefore we just ate at the two hotels.

it is a really beautiful place that seems to not yet be fully discovered and hopefully will never be wrecked with mass tourism.
