On the 8th we just came back to the capital to buy our tickets to Tazania - since we decided that we did not want 2 days of travelling on buses (OR MORE) when you can fly for 244 US Dollars! Lazy huh.
So thought I would give some useful info/thoughts on Rwanda
* All plastic bags are conviscated at the boarders into the country.
* It is well advised you brush up on your French before you arrive - as many people don't speak English.
* Make sure you bring enough cash with you (US Dollars) since the ATM's do not currently work for international cards.
* If you want to go gorilla trekking June-Sept it is advised to book early or go into the office every day to check for cancellations as permits (500 USD) are bulk bought by big tour agents in advance.
* French style 2 pin plugs are used here.
* Nowhere in Rwanda is far - All bus journeys are 2-3 hours
Conversion 1 pound = 1,000 Frw
1 litre water: 1,000
soda: 600
Beer: 700
Internet/h: 500-700
Room: 8,000 - 16,000
Plate chips: 1500
samosa: 600
