1st class train!!!

We took a first class train journey (15 hours :- 7pm - 10am) to Mombassa, where we had our own 2 berth compartment on the carriage and a 4 course silver service dinner consisting of soup, fish, chicken/beef and veges, cake and custard and tea/coffee - all very civilised. All that was needed was a port to finish the meal off with. The waiter was funny. He was wearing a white dinner jacket to serve. Was just a shame that it look like it hadn't been washed in a while. Apart from the bumps of carriages being removed and added and the bumps of the track it was relatively comfy in our cleanly washed sleeping bag.

In the morning we watched as all the villagers came to watch the train pass and some people throw food out of the window. By the time we got closer to Mobassa ( after our cooked breakfast!) it started to get very hot and humid and the fans in the buffet car or sitting on the sink in the carriage were the only way of keeping cool.
