I woke up this morning feeling sick to my stomach after 4 hours of sleep and having woken up twice already feeling REALLY confused about where I was... decided to go downstairs from some Continental breakfast.  I had an eerie feeling that the group had NOT made it during the night and was preparing myself for the worst.  I went to the Front Desk and asked if Johnathan had checked in yet and she said "Yes" and gave me the room numbers. *phew*.

After having a tiny breakfast because my sinuses are making my stomach feel ill, I came back to the internet cafe.  I love it that it's open 24/7 !  I walk through the door and immediately lay my hands on the shoulders of JOHNNY WALKER!  No, not a bottle of liquer, but Johnathan! Yay!  I had been waiting for this moment where I got to see him and say hello with a smile!  We shared our bad news of previous events with each other, but neither were to terrible.  We are sitting down here shortly to have a "business breakfast" and really get things sorted out.

Ta ta, for now.

Oh, hmm, you're probably wondering what I'm doing in Manila.. today, Sunday, is a free day.  I imagine the students will walk around town and go to the mall tomorrow.  We learn all about commercial sex tourism tomorrow, as it is one of the biggest revenues for the Philippines.  Yes, we will go to "girly" bars... which are not the same as a US strip club... basically, lots of women, wearing skirts and tank tops or dresses (really nothing too scandalou) and they're just prosititutes.  It's not topless or anything like that.  They are usually very chatty and cheerful, so it's a complete surprise when they want to be your friend.  I guess it's easier for me to NOT get hit on since I'm a girl and they normally go for the guys.
