We drove the 6 hours back to Inhambane area where we stopped off at a local market to buy the obligatory tat - wee bit of haggling for the hour then we headed to our accommodation, again it was in bed tonight woo hoo we have avoided any more tents.  Unfortunately the bad weather followed us and we were miles from anywhere, another wasted day and tomorrow was predicted to be the same - we spoke to the dive shop and he said it was pretty pointless to do any dives as visibility would only be 5m and it would be on the shallow reefs.

The frustration of wasting any more days was too much - the place was beautiful miles and miles of untouched coastline, all of Mozambique, even the slightly busier Tofo is pretty much untouched by tourism, you get the beach to yourself, the locals are so friendly and laid back the corruption of too much tourism hasn't hit yet.  Its the kinda place where they just say pay later for everything still so trusting.  A far cry from the likes of South East Asia!

Anyway after some debate we decided to book a flight out asap and get to Cape Town where there was loads to do and by flying it also meant we skipped the local bus trip followed by a night bus & flight.  It would give us an extra 2 days in Cape Town so we stumped up the cash and admitted defeat that we were beaten by the weather.
I was so sad to leave Mozambique its a beautiful country unspoilt as I say by tourism and the locals were always keen to speak to you and were so welcoming. Most of the houses we seen are all perfectly weaved little homes with the towns having the market stalls and it was great being in the truck and watching life go back - they kids always running down to wave to you in the giant truck.

I had brought some pencils/pens to give to the kids and also had a huge bag of hard sweets & mini haribo packets left over so on the way out of town the taxi driver stopped at a school where I gave the delighted teachers the pencils/pens but trying to give out the sweets proved a bit hard there was so many so a scramble was the only alternative (see vid)

Next stop Cape Town but Mozambique will definitely be on the "come back to list" in summer not spring lol

Flight from Inhambane to Cape Town - 277 each
Local beer 74p
Cost of a single scuba dive - 31 each
