So we joined a Nomads overland truck tour for the next week, the tour started a day or so before we joined it.  There are 18 of us in total with our driver guide and a chef on board.  Its a camping tour but fortunately for us most of the stops are actually accommodated and you have the option to upgrade when you arrive at places.  We are sick of tents after Kilimanjaro !

We set off today from Tofo to Vilanculos this is where we set off for our Bazaruto Island tour.  Its a 6 hour drive in the truck and being the new folk we seemed to have been stuck with the rubbish seats at the front of the truck where the sun shines on you all day so it was a hot drive to say the least.  We have an older couple from Edinburgh we are sitting beside so thats good banter the others are from all over, Israel, Canada, Austria, Portugal, Poland so its a good mix of people.  The drive was a long straight road through lots of villages it was great to watch life go by.

We stop off at shops on the way to get anything we need and also to the bottle shop for alcohol :-)  Tomorrow we are off to the islands for beach time and snorkelling but meanwhile we head to a wee beach bar for some drinks before our chef Vincent cooks up a great meal for dinner with our bottle of wine drunk we fall asleep early as we are shattered.

8 day Escape to Mozambique Tour incl Bazaruto Island Package - 500 each incl food & camping/accom
