El Barranco, Prince Phillip's Steps, El Barranco’s steep, rocky path leads up to a high cliff-face. A marvelous view can be appreciated from here.
This site is also home to Palo Santo vegetation as well as Red-footed Boobies, Short-eared Lava Owls, Galápagos Swallows, and Galápagos Doves.
We walked around this island for about an hour and a half seeing again loads of birds - I have tried to name the pics below as to whats what
AFTERNOON - DARWIN BAY
This white-sand coral beach heads a half mile trail that winds through mangroves filled with and birds. Nazca Boobies, Red-footed Boobies, and Swallow-tailed Gulls can be spotted here. Further down the path are tidal pools where sea lions swim playfully. At the end is a spectacular view off a cliff.
We were greeted on this island with more seals who were more than happy to pose for pics, after a short walk (it was boiling hot) we were off for our snorkle, we managed to see a few sting rays, tiger snake eel and at the end we were by the rock pool with the sea lions in it where we got to watch them come right up to us - they are so fast in the water. Took the pics with my normal camera its waterproof to 5m but the viability wasn't great hence they are a bit murky - some others in the group saw a hammerhead shark - typical it wasn't us :-(
Back on boat for snacks free time to laze in the sun then 2 course dinner - all we seem to do is eat - again we were exhausted so were out cold for 10pm - its defo not a party boat but its good with all the early starts and super expensive beer its a good job everyone was having early nights hehe.
