Tonight Marc was DJ'ing at a beach shack in Baga, which is the busy area of Goa where we went on holiday a few years back. We had been there already before heading up to Arambol so was weird to be heading back there just a few nights later.
Phil called round for us – minor hitch his van battery was playing up had to head off early to get a new one so it was a mad 10 min shower and out the door asap – got the the garage and just pulled in and 5 mins later we were off with a new battery no drama – we had about 5 men round the van to fit a battery seems they all wanted a look at me and marc in the van !
We got to the beach shack and its really nice not like some of them that are really dirty this one had a rooftop area too (no walls on the edge so if you had a bit much to drink you would just fall off the side –we sat up on for about 5 mins then I realised it was swaying just with people walking on it nevermind a wind so we headed downstairs!!
It was fairly quiet when we arrived still early the owner Vijay sat us down and plyed us with free food n bevvy so was all good – then other DJ turned up his name was Anoop Absolute – very well known on the DJ scene in India so he had plenty of DJ chat with Marc. Anoop then went on to play first then Marc was up next – so Marc steps behind the DJ box, headphones on just about to get going and then POWER CUT !!! We all just sat in darkness for about 5 mins this was normal for India they happen all the time. The lights come on and Marc gets going they were loving the trance, there was an Indian birthday party in and women in their sahiris and couple of british guys all fully getting involved too. Its indian holiday time so was not really many british around. Then once again half way through lights went out but somehow one set of speakers and the music still played so there was marc mixing in the dark on these old CDJ200’s – lights back on and they were still dancing was all too funny
