Loving life in Buenos Aires!

We have spent the last 5 days lazing about the lovely capital of Argentina, and enjoying being back in a cheap country. Every day is full of delicious food and wine for so little money! Not sure we will be able to eat another steak once we return home! Going out for food is such a treat seeing the huge BBQ´s of meat they display in the front of the restaurant. And there always seems to be some singing our dancing going on in every place we have been.
Compared to the poodle loving Rio, here the people dress smart and look quite chic! But this doesn´t take away from the crazy Argentinian flare, mad drivers (we have witnessed a few near misses) and passionate locals demonstrating for hours, on the day we arrived right outside our hotel, for over 3 hours (no chance of a bit of shut eye for us then!). They also seem to love their coffee here and take-away involves cafes delivering a proper cup of coffee on a tray, so we have had to dodge street waiters as well as the traffic!
Our real highlight has been spending a day in San Telmo and La Boca yesterday where street performers were singing and giving tango dances. La Boca is one of the poorest areas of BA so we were advised to stick to the main tourist trail, in amongst the brightly coloured streets. Good job we did as we later sat next to a Brit who had been mugged at gun point by the football stadium, H reckons maybe because the poor lad was wearing a Man Utd shirt! We had our portrait drawn by a small boy of about 6yrs old who chose to earn his money this way rather than stealing, so we were more than happy to give him a pound for the hysterical picture he drew of us! And yes, there has been Tango, we have only watched so far but tonight we may be brave and give it a go.... after a few bottles of the local wine that is!
