Road Trip to Pune

Today we went on a "road trip" to Pune. After a drive I had taken to Goa from Pune 10 years ago I thought the trip would be interesting to say the least! But we were told that there is now an expressway that links Mumbai to Pune and it should take approx 3 hours. But what we didn't expect was the amount of rain that fell that morning. The locals told us it was raining "Elephants & Tigers", not the normal "Cats & Dogs"! This meant that the roads were heaving and more and more potholes had to be driven through to get out of Mumbai. Then when we got to Pune the roads were even worse, we felt like we were on some kind of fairground ride. So after a 5 hr journey there and 5.5 hr journey back we didn't have too much time to see the family. But the time we spent there was fun and Pune is much more developed than when I was there 10 yrs ago. We will post piccies as soon as we can download them from the camera.
