We are now in Siem Reap, after three nights in Phnom Penh, the captital city. We've been braving bikes more - as it is a lot easier to see more and not get as tired as walking around in such heat and humidity. But, riding bikes in PP was also quite hairy at times, so our motto is "go slow" and the hundreds of motocyles, buses and cars go around us (and not into us).

We've just finished our three day pass into Angkor Wat and surrounding Wats. The fist day we rented bikes and did atleast 25km to and around the wats - I felt so sweaty gross and physically exhausted by the end of day it was not pleasant - it's an entirely different regime when your are in Southeast Asia working out (am I whining??) The second and third days we rented eletric bikes - weeeeee - to a max speed of 20km/hr - not too bad! And we did not see everything there either - ther is so much!

Now, how to even start to describe Angkor Wat - known as the world's largest religious builidng? After being to many other famous wats in Thailand, Lao and temples in Vietnam, it is easily understood why Angkor has so much fame. We were in awe of how old, and yet intact many of the details, carvings and structure that have survived. Much is also in ruin - A great example is Ta Phom where trees and nature are reclaiming the wat (see photos) Plus the many surrounding wats, completed centuries apart are all an unique experience as well!

Well, I'll download as many pictures as I can ... and these cannot even begin to show how beautiful and special a place this is ... you should go!

On Sunday we will take a 4 hour boat ride to Battambang, Cambodia to relax and eat more Cambodian food .. and who knows!!!

A very special Happy birthday to my number one Daddy!
