What can I say about Ko Tao that hasn't been said already when talking about Ko Phi Phi or Ko Phangan! These islands are all amazing. Paradise over and over!
An here I am again, blogging about where I have been and what I have seen but most imporaantly the people I have met and the customs I have learned. All this of course with slow computers, internet cafe rates that if you stay 1 hour online it costs you more than a sit-down meal, and keyboards with keys that don't work unless you literally pound on them!
So everyone I apologize for how long it has been taking me to update this blog but trust me, I'm still keeping notes on pieces of papers in Molly's journal so whenever I get some free time (rarely) I can update you on the crazyness of my adventures. Yes, this means that in the next entries you will be reading about me petting tigers, me jumping off waterfalls, me tubing down the Mekong River where teh water is brown as wood...oh, and tarzan swinging into it, etc).
For now tho, let's have a chat about Ko Tao. It's been a while since we left there but memories are as clear as the water there.
We arrived on a boat and like true backpackers we decided a tuk tuk ride for about 3 dollars total was a ripp-off so we walked in the blistering sun with our bags on until we foud teh main road, also called the yellow brick road. We passed resturants, bungalows, internet cafes, booking agencies, scooter rentals and finallyw e found a place that we liked. We ended up paying aroud 5 dollars each per night in this incrediblly situated bungalow on the beach called SB Bungalows where this old lady did everything while the person I am assuming was her husband sat on a chair and read the newspaper.
After a "tough" afternoon at the beach which involved heaven and a bit more of heaven, we went around at night, found the norwegian girls and the canadian girls. Together we went to Lotus bar which we had been told was the place to be and there we hung out, drank some beers, enjoyed the company, and saw the SICKEST fire show. These two guys were spinning their fire sticks of ball or whatever their name actually is not only at incredible speeds but also to the beat of the music. My face must have showed pure disbelief and awe.
Other highlights about Ko Tao are the sunset on the beach, when the sky turned red and purple for a good 5-10 minutes, an amazing BBQ on the beach with the Canadian girls as our last night in the Thai Islands, finishing the book Into the Wild which is amazing for anyone that was wondering, and just the beach, the beach, and more of the beach! One big regret was not going diving or snorkling but hey, everyone make mistakes and now it means I will HAVE to go back soon, right?
ps. What I love about Ko Tao and the trip since, is that internet is not a necessity anymore and life is so much simpler. Just hop on a bus a and go tot he next place, no need for online booking or calling or anything. Make up your mind at leasta day early and anything is possible, even if it is a 3 day long ride to a different city (which actually exists and must be torture!)

Sunset
Anyway, the porch looked at the beach under palm trees! We sqeezed into this mke-shirt triple and right away into the water as clear as ever.
