I don't know if I should be complaining about this past day or just be exited about what I just saw. Would you rather go to heaven and have a (mostly) miserable stay or not go to heaven at all?
It all started last night when we booked a minibus and ferry package to Koh Phi Phi, questionably one of the nicest islands in the world. The total trip time would be around 3.5 hours each way and the last ferry back was at 2:30 in the afternoon; not late enough but better than nothing.
So this morning we woke up at 6:30 and it was POURING outside. Great start. We got picked up and the storm just gets worse and worse. On the beat we r trying our hardest to keep our valuables dry but fail miserable as you can see from Dom's face in the picture.
Anyway, once we arrive we are miserable! It's raining like we are in the middle of a damn tsunami and everyone getting off the boat is lost, confused, or looking for a place to hide while deciding their game plan. 5 Minutes after staying in some tourist information place and having the guy there semi-laugh at our luck, we go to a bakery to eat something and 1 hour later, we realize we only have 2 hours left on what is one of the best beaches we will see on the trip. On the upside, the rain is slowing down (I'm by no means saying the sun is coming out, it's just that the rain is slowing down) so we get excited about walking around a bit and seeing more than just a restaurant. At this point we put away our ponchos and took out our umbrellas
We walked around, the rain fully stopped 30 minutes before our boat left to go back to Phuket and we were able to catch some gorgeous pictures of one of the many beaches of this island. I uploaded some simply to show off...ahaha
Now I'm sitting at the hotel, it's 7:30, weather is great, birds are chirping (no joke) and I'm kicking myself for not having seen Maya Bay. Tomorrow off to Koh Phangan for the world famous Half Moon Party. Couldn't book a hostel prior to going so we'll see if lady luck decides to be on our side for once
Ps.Biggest regret, we were not able to go to Maya Bay which is the beach where Leonardo DiCaprio's movie the Beach was filmed and is the island's main attraction for its beauty. But you know what this means? Well, simply that I will be back on this piece of paradise called Koh Phi Phi (Koh means island in Thai)
Pps.what is amazing about Koh Phi Phi is that it's one of the few islands that acknowledges that overbuilding and overcrowding is going to deteriorate the place so there are no roads, cars, or many hotels on it. To travel around you take boat-taxis. No wonder this place feels like heaven; tourism is having too much of a hard time ruining it.

Dom's face summarizes it all
