We then got to a big coach bus and all hopped on. On the bus our tour guide put on the Hangover 2 which I watched for a while but one of the other super seedy hungover tour members was opposite me with a bag between his legs ready to chuck. So instead of watching the movie I leant on Ryan and closed my eyes, falling asleep for a bit.
Outside the toilets were some monkeys in a cage we watched for a bit. There was also a lookout which had an amazing view of all of the hilly mountains surrounding us. We hovered about for a bit while everyone used the toilets and grabbed some snacks then headed back onto the bus.
We drove for a while and I had another sleep. I then realized my ankles were quite swollen due to my sunburnt legs. I couldn't see my ankle bone poking out the side anymore.
We stopped off for lunch about 2 hours later where we had a 5 course meal which was alright, the food didn't have a whole lot of flavor and I found a hair in one of the shared dishes. After lunch we had some photos by a lookout bit and then I went inside to the little restaurant/shop to try and find an electrolyte drink to help my cankles.
We got back onto the bus and I think I ended up having another mini nap. Our tour guide then work everyone up and we went through info about Vang Vieng and we watched a tubing video. The tubing video showed the flying fox with a knot halfway where people hit it and are forced to flip into the water which has many jagged rocks extremely close by.
We then arrived at the Elephant Crossing hotel which was along the Nam Song river. It was quite a nice hotel and looked almost resort-y. We then headed out to the deck to have a quick meeting with the people heading through to Vietnam (8 of us - the other 23 finish their tour in Cambodia). We checked our visas and looked at extras we could do. There is a snorkeling trip and a Vietnamese cooking class I am super excited for!
One of the other Vietnam girls, Tiff, and I then went out for a pedicure while our boys sat and had some beers on the deck. We went searching for a place and found one in the main part of the little town but not too far away. It was a bit of a scrummy place and after putting our feet into trays of cold water, the ladies used the same unwashed pumice stone on our feet. It was only 30,000 kip though ao obly about $4. I chose a more brighter pink than I would normally get and Tiff chose a bright orange which was really bright but different and looked good.
We went back to the hotel, showered, changed and then headed to the deck where some of the others were. There were 6 little puppies next to a little staircase that were only about a month old. We all had a bit of a cuddle with some of the puppies but they were very sleepy and wanted to be with their brothers and sisters.
When everyone was ready we headed out to Sakura restaurant. When we arrived each pair was given a free bucket of very potent alcohol. I didn't want to drink due to my sunburn and dehydration and Ryan wasn't feeling too well so we decided not to drink. Ryan and I got some spring rolls and cashew chicken but honestly Kwik Stix is a bit better back home. It was still good food and a good environment in the actual club/restaurant which had cool things like giant jenga and a movie watching area about.
Ryan and I didn't stay long and headed back to the hotel quite early to get some rest.
