We headed into the restaurant and there was so much available. There was a cooked food section with usual breakfast things, an egg station where staff make the eggs how you like them, an omelette station where staff make you omelettes, a noodle station with curries too, a fruit station with fruit salads, yoghurts and fresh chunks of fruit, a waffle and pancake station, a bakery station with rolls and pastries, and a sushi and sashimi station. There were also all sorts of cereals, heaps of different juices and even soy milk. I was truly in breakfast heaven.
I ended up grabbing some hash brown, tomato, bacon and a little slice of frittata. Going around I also grabbed a Danish. At our table they poured us freshly squeezed orange juice which was made with different oranges to the usual Australia ones. It was really delicious and tasted so fresh. I ate my bits and pieces then went and got a piece of each fruit chunk and 2 little bits of sushi. Everything was so good.
Ryan and I then wandered back in again heading to the pastries, but then this is when I realized they had an omelette station. I was so excited and had never had an omelette before so had to get one. They had little fancy bowls filled with mini cubes of all sorts of things. I got mushroom, tomato, bacon and cheese. It was amazing and I think I turned from an egg hater to an egg lover the minute I began eating it.
Ryan and I then went back up to the hotel room. I was so incredibly full I laid on the bed for a bit. Ryan came and laid next to me and rubbed my tummy until I fell asleep lol. I woke up about an hour and a half later.
We then got ready and headed out to the little shopping stalls for a wander. I ended up getting a dress for $6 and Ryan got two shirts for $5 each. We went to the big shopping mall under the hotel to get some lunch. We went to a japanese noodle place and I really wanted noodles but I was a bit unsure what to get so ordered a sushi box instead. Ryan ordered a noodle soup with prawns and mushrooms which tasted really nice. I was a bit jealous as Ryan's food always tastes better than mine :p. I decided maybe I should order the same things as him from now on.
We went back to the hotel and ended up laying by the pool for a while. We were able to use free Internet on my phone while in the reception and pool area. We got a coke and pina colada which were both about the same price. Ryan had a swim in the pool but it was like ice and I was too whimpy to get in too. The sun was setting so we headed out soon after towards the big buddah. We walked down the main street and hailed one of the open truck taxi things. The big buddah ended up being quite a bit up the hill but the taxi ride only cost us $7.
The big buddah was all lit up and the sky was quite dark. Ryan's camera took some pretty amazing pictures of it but my camera failed me a bit lol. We wandered about and looked at the view. There were some plants in pots which animal picture ms in front so I assumed they were the animals of years people were born. The plants were jabbed with sticks holding 20baht notes. I'm the year of the snake so put some money in a stick and put it in. Ryan thinks he is the year of the ox and so did the same with that plant.
We then wandered down the hill and towards the main part of the city. On the way there was a scooter crash with a bit of a crunch and slide. One guy fell off his bike and appeared to have broken a rib or something but he just got back on his bike and sat there. When it happened Ryan was ready to go and help out and it made me feel safe having a nurse with me all the time. There wasn't much to be done so we kept wandering down the road. We wandered for a while along some dark paths with scrub alongside. I was a bit scared for snakes and getting malaria filled mosquito bites, so walked quickly. We wanted to go to the waking street and ended up hailing a taxi thing. The taxi guy pointed just down the road we had passed and said it was down there, which was nice of him. We walked down the street and saw the entrance to the walking street already.
We went to the lobster pot which we saw an ad for in the tourist guide we had. The seating area was on a deck over the water and we could see the lit up Pattaya city sign. We ordered the mixed grills which had grilled meat - beef, chicken and maybe pork, and a barbecued prawn. Ryan went to the toilet and saw a lady refilling the water bottles, so we were a little cautious of the place and I ordered coke instead which came in a bottle and seemed to be okay. The meal was alright but nothing special really.
After dinner we headed out and got called on buy a guy offering tickets to a ping pong show. We thought it was a must to see in Thailand, so we went to it. There ended up being heaps of tourists coming in, including older couples. There was some appearing rope covered in flowers, drawing, whistle blowing, horn tooting, ping pong throwing, banana throwing, egg throwing, dart shooting and balloon popping, and strings with razor blades and needles appearing. We walked out unsure what to think of it lol.
We then walked back to the hotel. It was just after 12am so we had a shower and headed to bed.
