Another very rough night, this time I couldn't breathe properly which we ended up putting down to allergies and my low blood pressure at high altitudes in the heat/cool. A lot of tossing and turning, I got a few hours sleep. Definitely missing my bed but starting to get used to not sleeping well.

I looked outside the window and it was lovely to see white snow covering everything in the backyard, the house next to us and the cars.

We had breakfast which was rolls, salami and cheese. Missing my Vegemite toast here :p. Still good though, just different.

After breakfast I got dressed, I took my time because the good thing is when noone else really speaks your language, there's no need for you to be around everyone every minute.

When I got dressed etc, I noticed Baba was outside in the snow. I quickly put on a jacket and shoes and went out there too. The snow was crunchy still and it was kind of cool to see how far down your foot went, telling you how much snow had come!

We wandered around the backyard and Baba told me different things about when she was a kid here. I tried to make some snowballs but it didn't work too well, I still playfully threw the handfuls of ice at Baba lol.

Vera was outside too trying to scrape the ice from the driveway which had been there a few days. She used a plastic paint scraper thing but I was so surprised it didn't scratch the car. While Vera was doing this, Thomash was throwing chunks of ice at the car... Probably not the best idea when it's hardish ice lol, but no dents.

After we went inside we had to head out again as Peter was taking us to a snowy place for lunch. Along the way we stopped in at a shopping mall where Baba and I got me some antihistamines, cough syrup and tissues to save me from further issues tonight. Baba said all 3 items from the chemist only cost $7! We also went to the sporting shop where we bought a sled for the snow.

It was a bit of a drive to the hilly snow area of Jizerka (it's going to be weird going back to Adelaide where the longest I drive for is usually 20 minutes!) The streets were clear of the snow which was pushed to the sides of the road in piles.

When we arrived at the hilly snow place we walked along a road which winded up and down some hills. The road was very icy so we had to walk along the edges where the snow was thicker. The snow fell as we walked through the snow and it felt magical (I've been using the word a lot, but it's the best way to describe) as it sprinkled onto my face. The houses all had thick layers of snow covering their roofs, where some of then the snow had slid down where they may have been cooking. The edges of the roof also had icicles dripping off of them.

Along the way we used the sled to slide down some of the hills which was pretty fun! I got the hang of the steering with my feet pretty quickly and only crashed into the mounds of snow on the sides of the road a few times!

We eventually reached a little house which was a restaurant inside with 4 medium sized tables next to each other. We all sat down and the menu had the regular Czech foods of beef goulash with dumplings or roast pork with dumplings and cabbage. I decided to be a bit different and go for chicken schnitzel and boiled potatoes. The food was alright, but the schnitzel didn't have any gravy and it didn't beat our schnitzels at home :p.

After lunch we trekked back through the snow. This time I decided to be daring and trek into the snow over the mounds on the sides of the road. I walked a few steps and then crunch... I was knee deep in the snow! It was a bit fun and I felt like a child playing around lol. When I got out Baba was frantically brushing all the snow off me although I couldn't feel it because of all the layers of clothing I was wearing. On the way back I pulled little Thomash along the icy road in the sled and ran to keep warm.

When we got back to the car I felt very exhausted, about 5 minutes into the car ride back I was falling asleep. I woke up as we drove on the crunchy driveway up to the house.

We went inside and everyone read some newspaper for a while where there was a front page picture on one of the newspapers of my cousin, Marketa who is a news reporter and changing stations. Because I was unable to read Czech I caught up on Facebook happenings instead.

We were having Vienna sausages for dinner and with them they brought out rolls, bread, sauce and mustard. Straight away I just got a roll, tore it open, filled it with mustard, a bit of ketchup, put my sausage in and put a little more sauce on top. I looked up and everyone else was biting into their empty rolls and dipping their sausages into sauce and mustard on their plates. Baba laughed at me and said I made a hot dog. I'm not sure if it was silly, but to me; roll + sausage + sauce = hot dog! Lol these Czech people just don't understand :p.

We watched the children's cartoon I mentioned earlier in my blog, with a mole which I bought an English book about. It was a very cute little cartoon.

I got ready and headed for bed early, then little Jitka called to check and see how I was going with all the non- English speakers and everything. I'm going to miss her when I go home!
