When it actually came down to it, we spent two solid days emptying, discarding, packing away and subsequently cleaning ... despite the fact that we feel we have been absolutely committed to not buying souvenirs or collecting 'stuff' there still seemed to be a huge amount of said 'stuff' to deal with.
So, in a pristine Bree, Malc made the very last hop a few yards to the storage section of the RV site and parked him in his allotted space.
So, we left the warm tropical sunshine taking two hours to clear security at Orlando airport even going through the 'experienced traveller lane' it took ages. Our stop over at JFK in New York was uneventful, we were a little worried when the chap at the Air India desk scribbled a note about our luggage transfer on a small scrap on paper, as he struggled over the spelling of 'Orlando'. We had bought our tickets 7 months earlier as we had to have proof of return when we entered the US and ever watchful of our budget, this was the cheapest airline. Now we weren't quite so sure! However the flight was superb, the staff wonderful and the efficiency unrivalled. Mind you it was made all the more pleasant by the fact that there were only 10 of us in the whole back section of the plane so it was even more than one row of seats each!
Heathrow was heaving and the sudden exposure to so many people, bags, trolleys etc. came as a bit of a shock, but thankfully Ross was waiting for us and in the space of a couple of hours we were back home. Three days later we woke to snow ... practically unheard of in this part of the world, can't remember when it snowed last! Only in the UK...
So for the time being Bournemouth remains our base, Malc has a kitchen to fit for Ross and there is some decorating to do at home, hopefully it won't be too long before we are back on the road... no need to watch this space the automatic e mail will tell you when leg three begins. Thank you for being one of the 4000 or so hits that this blog has had over the past 6 months, hope you have enjoyed travelling with us.
