Kanchanaburi is a three hour drive away from Bangkok, in central Thailand. It is a mountainous jungle area. Its is really nice and there is lots to do here. The area is probably most famous for its role in WWII depicted in the film " A Bridge Over The River Kwai." Stayed in a nice hut with for the night and headed for Erawan Falls early the next morning. Erawan Falls is a series of waterfalls with seven steps. Step 7 is 4km from step 1 and it takes a few hours to reach the top. It was very tough going but worth it. That afternoon we took the train back to Kanchanaburi via the Death Railway. Over 120,000 allied POWs died during the construction of the bridge.
