Arrived in a town called Pushkar today. We found a great hotel with a swimming pool and nice view of the holy lake. Pushkar is a special town for Hindus. It is the only town in India where an important god, Lord Brahma, can be worshipped and many Hindus make pilgrimages to this town. Meat, eggs and alcohol are strictly forbidden.
The first night we chilled out. The next morning we went shopping in the main bazaar. We bought some hippy gear to help us blend in and we looked the part. The only bad thing about Pushkar is that it is full of obnoxious dope smoking Israelis who think they own the place. We went down to the Ghats at the holy lake to receive our Brahma blessing and Pushkar passports. This involves throwing some flowers into the lake and repeating some Hindi words after the "priest". You get a lace wristband and a Hindu dot on your forehead, for your troubles. That night we went for dinner with two Norweigen girls we met. They were very nice girls and we had some good craic. We could not leave Pushkar without sampling a glass of their infamous Bhang Lassi. This rounded off a great two days in Pushkar.
