The weather has not been very co-operative for our further travels to Cape May,N.J. There is a storm in the Atlantic stationary causing extremely unsafe passage so we decided to let things calm a bit and headed up the Northeast River to Carpenters Point off the old gun bunker and old campground where Roger had property for his FifthWheel motor home and boat. The property has been sold and a developer has been selling parcels for big new homes BUT the beach is still there and very welcomed with this now HOT weather. This is MS.SCARLETTS first boat ride and she did awesome. She was not afraid at all but was quite curious.Once we were under way she checked everything out and laid down on her blanket and took a nap.OUTSTANDING!!!!We drop the hook and make sure we are secure then drop the DINK.This will be the next test for her.We open the transcom door and out she goes following Mr. Dach right in the dink we start up the engine off we go NO PROBLEM!!!!It will take her a couple of times falling in to get her sea legs but so far so good. She actually loves the water also and can swim almost as good as Mr.Dach we are so pleased!!!!!We hang out at the beach and let the dogs swim and play then back to BLUE DOLPHIN for cocktails and a gorgeous sunset.A PERFECT DAY.Then we see deer and a fawn drinking from the river what a sight. The next morning we decided to move up to the top of the Northeast River basin and anchor. We were pleasantly surprised they had put in new floating docks and a dinghy dock off the park.GREAT---easy docking and walking the DOXIES.There is only one other boat in the anchorage----evidently the news is not out about the docks yet.GOOD FOR US.We will stay a couple days and enjoy the historic town and WOODYS CRABS.The park has many picnic tables, benches and a walking trail around the park and lots of shade. There is a canoe, kyak launch area that is perfect for the DOXIES to swim and cool off.The NAUTI-GULL restaurant is on the basin with a SEAFOOD BUFFET and BREAKFAST BUFFET on the weekends. There is also a high and dry that drops the FAST BOATS in the water so we have a show everyday. We cant believe the Canadian Geese and ducks they are everywhere. The sailboat that is anchored here had to put on his main sail cover the duck were building a nest. The Baltimore/Washington Bullet train to Philadelphia has its tracks through here BUT they are so fast you really dont even notice. Will decide our next move weather permitting
