The first day n trinidad we went to the beach and went out on a catamarange (¿?) to go snorkeling on the coral reef, it was small but there were a huge amount of fish!! and was well worth the trip, later we drank more ron and went to the cave nightclub which looked cool but was a bit sleazy and we were wrecked! The next day started slow and was lost because we could only rent mopeds till 6 and the bike for rent were shit, still got to see the town and chill for a bit
. also saw a cool local show of afro-cuban dancing. the rest was well needed as our rasta friend sorted out for a horses riding trip into the mountains for 10CUC, a steals as others in the group cost 20! It was fantastic, sore but Fantastic, went up into the hills around the town and then down and fast across a few feilds!! arrived at an amazing waterfall swimming pool, more amazing as we were hot and sore but good all the same! The ride back was nice too and reminded me of home up in the mountains in the rain with green fields all around! That night me n mick went to the casa de musica, really good and went on to have a late night, was in bits all of the next day as we waited for our direct bus to Vinales, which didnt materialise, got a taxi to havana instead, which was nice, then cahnged for that nice car to an auld LADA!!! Pimped lada at that with a mad sound system which mick had to endure in the back, took for ever to go and the driver stopped at home 40mins for vinales and fill the fuel tank. Then the car cut out in the outskirts of somewhere and he said a few things and left!! We were gettin worried before he retuned after bout 45mins. Then a mechanic came to drain all the water out of the fuel tank and engine. Got to vinales in high spirts after a nice cigar as we waited, but twas 2 in the morning and we landed on out feet with a good casa!
Met two nice english gals on the bus who fed us and we talked into coming to trinidad. Arriving in Trinidad we were ambushed by casa owners, so assuming there'd be no problem gettin a casa we fought our way through and went in search, actually we sat on the road while 4-5 guys went running making phonecalls and such! Eventually a really sound rasta called "America" sorted us out with a casa for 15cuc (about $15USD) per room for all of us. The casas were nice and to sweeten the deal we had to have dinner (which is where they make their cash!) we had to move around a bit but not too far and all nice.
