I slept blissfully until after 9:00 when everyone else was already up. After a few cups of coffee and good conversation, we packed up our bags and headed over to Columbia where we had an excellent vegetarian lunch at The Great Sage. We then went to Target where I bought a watch. Our next mission was a quest to find a liquor store for Audrey. It proved to be an hour-long search before we finally succeeded. Then we drove to BWI, arriving about 3:00. We said good-bye to Emily and John and went in. No one was at the Iceland Air desk yet so we had a beer. A couple of hundred airmen en route to Iraq were milling around the airport awaiting their 9:00 flight.
We checked our bags around 6:00 and then went to a pub where we had dinner and some very expensive beer. We chatted with an Air Force sergeant on his way to Iraq and played some video games.
We left around 7:45 and immediately ran into Motley and his mother Janet. Janet will stay with friends in Reykjavík while we are on our trip. We found Rain at security and met Bill and Shirl Thomas at our gate: our Baltimore contingent was complete.
We boarded on time and took off just a few minutes late. We had bought a few mini bottles at the duty free shop to keep us entertained en route. Bill, Shirl, Audrey and I had been bumped up to business class seating. I wrote and we watched "First Knight."
