Day 152: January 14, 2008 Río Gallegos
This is my last day in this strange, trash-covered town. I took a cab out to the bus terminal and changed my ticket but had to pay a 30% fine because I was doing it in the hour before departure. I went back to town hoping to find an internet place open early. Fortunately, the woman who runs the Tru-Ma Kisco on Av. Roca, where I was yesterday, is a sharp businesswoman. She stays open 24 hours/day and has six computers with a fast connection. Because of that and because the fast foto uploader works very well there, I spent seven hours uploading the rest of my Galápagos fotos and those I took between December 26th and January 2nd. Most of the time was spent writing titles and captions. I also got a call from Will. His plans seem to be anything but plans but we hung up agreeing to meet in Rada Tilly on the 25th.
After finishing with my blog work, I went to the Hotel Comercio and had a hamburger and beer in their restaurant. It cost 30 pesos but it tasted good. Back at the Hotel Alonso, I watched the History Channel and packed for tomorrow's journey to San Julián.
