Day 124: December 16, 2007 Ushuaia
Today was probably one of the least intersting days of the trip but it had to happen. After breakfast, and after giving a Chico Bag to Oscar Tilli, the hotel owner, I took a cab down to the internet café to finish uploading my fotos from the trip with my family. It took 10 hours to get them all uploaded, captionated, and ordered. I finished at about 9:30 PM, famished from not eating. I ate a ham and cheese sandwich and drank a Hain dark beer at the café and then walked down San Martín to La Cantina Fuegina de Freddy. I ordered grilled cod and a Cape Horn Stout. Both local beers that I sampled were great. I think there is also a third microbrewery in Ushuaia. The cod was good too--much better than the meal the previous night.
I quickly found a cab to the hotel. Oscar and I chatted about Julio Popper's gold discovery in the 1890's as I settled my bill and he called for a cab at 5:30 AM for me. In my room, I finished off the remaining shot of gin as I watched an interesting History Channel show on Greek ships, in Spanish. It ended at 12:30 and I went to sleep.
