Day 105: November 27, 2007 In Salta
I didn't sleep well, thinking about everything that I have to do. I got up, made a list, and kept adding to it as I did my morning routine. The first thing I did when I got to the office was work with Toyo to send a .pdf copy of the proposal to the Dean via Toyo's account since I still couldn't attach it to my email. I couldn't get his email from the mail program and it isn't anywhere to be found on the website, so I sent it to Ken Duke, asking him to forward it.
I called Berta to see if the certificates were ready for signing out at UNSa. Nobody seemed to know anything about it so I decided not to go out there; I had too many other things to do. I took a bus into town and withdrew money to pay for the XR-Geomap vehicle use during my fieldwork. Then, I bought bus tickets to Buenos Aires on Friday. Since it was almost noon, I went over to La Chueca for empanadas and a salad. Finally, I got a cab and picked up the laundry before returning to the office.
I started making hotel reservations in Patagonia, online. It went fairly smoothly. Prices are definitely higher in the south than they are up here. By the end of the afternoon, my email appeared to be working fairly well although it was still slow. I successfully sent the Dean another copy of the proposal; I hope he can get it back to me on time.
Elena had Carlos over for dinner. She cooked him spaghetti. Since I wasn't invited, I went next door, probably for the last time. It wasn't too busy so Ramon and I talked most of the time that I was there. As usual, I stuffed myself with good food.
Back at the apartment, Elena had already gone to bed. Jorge and Bernardo were finishing dinner so I hung out with them. After they went to bed, I watched the news and fell asleep. Toyo woke me up when he came in and I went to bed.
