Day 22: September 5, 2007 In Salta

Elena slept in since she had the morning off. I followed my routine of breakfast, CNN, and writing before going down to the office. The BC email was apparently down for the day. I spent the morning uploading fotos and tweaking the maps on my TravelPod blogs.

After lunch, I started preparing for my Paleomagnetism course by reading the first chapter of Butler's book. It is the only geophysical book I've ever read that was written with humor. After I finished, I started building a PowerPoint. As usual, I don't do it often enough to remember where everything is located in the application but the Spanish version is still pretty easy to work with.

Elena and Luchi left for the theatre around 4:00. I was surprised that no one was in the apartment when I came in at 7:00. I was soon joined by Bernardo and Jorge who started preparing dinner. They discovered they needed some eggs, so the three of us went to the Supermercado El Norte at the base of the hill on Entre Ríos. It is much better than the one at the Shopping and it's a lot closer.

Elena was back by the time we returned. Jorge made an excellent tuna wrap and papa frita omelette. Toyo joined us just before we began to eat a little after 10:00. We finished at about 11:30. Afterward, the men had a nightcap and conversation out on the balcony overlooking the beautiful lights of Salta. I turned in at 12:30.
